QSP's First Corvair Engine Installation Workshop
A new kind of workshop by William Wynne for Corvair aficionados
We initially thought we would take one complete Corvair engine and install it on one complete Zodiac XL fuselage... Instead, the program naturally evolved to better meet the true needs of participants, real homebuilders who would face their own projects again in their own workshops after the seminar had ended...
Tentative date for next QSP-sponsored Corvair workshop:
Mid-November 2007- visit the WORKSHOP page (left-hand menu) for updates.
Plans are already underway for a repeat of this great experience. The weekend entailed non-stop Q&A sessions, many explanations, demonstrations, and hands-on opportunities; a lecture and a video viewing... William inspected numerous engines and components brought in by various Corvair builders as well, and also showed some of the new engine and FWF components that his shop is now producing and selling... All participants left re-energized and with renewed confidence!
Engine #1
Two Days ~ Two engines...
It didn't take long for Zodiac builder Woody Harris to unload his fuselage and Corvair engine from the trailer he had just pulled in with... A few minutes later, the group gathered and William launched into the specifics of the engine...
That engine would be mounted by the end of the first day...

Engine #2
John Kerney, another Zodiac builder (and a graduate of Corvair College #5) brought his ready-to-run engine on a stand. The engine was closely inspected, run numerous times and fine-tuned. All were impressed by the sound and the thrust... What a great teaching aid: The real thing!
