This one was close to home! It was a pleasure to meet with many friends from our local EAA Chapter 124 (also based at Santa Rosa). We were approached by many builders and pilots wishing us well in our new regional effort. It was great to experience everyone's support and we are all the more eager to move into our hangar and start assembling kits! Yes, we have encountered some delays, mostly due to disrupted summer schedules in city government. Everything now seems set to go for September though! We shared a display area with Dragonfly Aviation who will soon be offering flight training on the Zodiac XL and with Bridgeford Flying Center of NAPA. Weather for the two-day event was fabulous, with cool mornings and perfectly blue skies each day for the airshow.

Christopher Desmond and wife Annie in front of their STOL CH 701. Christopher flew in for the event from Gnoss field (just a short hop) and was again amazed at the popularity of the "Lizard Plane".

This Beautifully finished Zodiac XL was met with enthusiasm as a fine example of what the future holds for flight schools offering the new Light Sport License.

Interest in Zenith Aircraft kits continues to be brisk. Many pilots are surprised to realize the Zodiac XL can be flown with the sport pilot license: comfort, visibility, useful load and great cruise speed are all impressive… All are blown away by the spectacular performance specifications of the STOL CH 701!
